LBI delivered IMPACT workshops and coaching modules that accredits trainees to the IMPACT Foundations level.

Intent
This step provides accreditation to the IMPACT Foundations level. It equips and empowers caregivers, educators, supporting adults, practitioners and leaders with the shared language, knowledge, skills and methods to:
- Deliver trauma-informed, wellbeing-responsive support as a way of thinking and being.
- Understand client complexity and the underlying why of behaviour.
- Respond to client needs rather than react to surface behaviours.
- Intentionally grow client capacity in a personalised way.
- Provide intentional, moment-to-moment care and support.
- Apply side-by-side What-What-How® Growth Action Planning.
- Partner with clients, colleagues and others with shared intent.
Key Features
This step includes the following accredited IMPACT training and coaching modules (contextualised to school, agency, program or community), delivered over a 12-month implementation period:
- Co-designed implementation and positioning plan.
- 1-Day IMPACT Foundations (workshop contextualised to community – see below).
- 90-minute coaching module: Grounded.
- 90-minute coaching module: Respond to Need.
- 90-minute coaching module: Growth Action Planning.
- 3-hour online self-paced workshop: Trauma-Responsive Practice as a Way of Thinking and Being.
Basic member access to the online IMPACT resource library is included.

1-Day Foundations Workshops
The school, team, program or community completes one version of the following IMPACT Foundations workshops.
IMPACT Foundations: Introduction to IMPACT and Intentional Trauma-Responsive Practice
Develop the foundational awareness to support others in a trauma and wellbeing responsive manner, through the shared language, knowledge, skills and methods to:
- Activate the growth potential of your clients.
- Personalise care and support through intentional side-by-side (safe-base) relationships and coaching.
- Respond rather than react.
- Understand and modify the intent of your care.
- Uplift and keep ‘growth-focused’, even in times of stress.

90-Minute Coaching Modules
The school, team, program or community completes all of the following IMPACT coaching modules.

Growth Action Planning: IMPACT Trauma-Responsive Coaching Module
- Grow an awareness of ‘what is a Growth Action Plan’ (or documented What-What-How®).
- Grow the awareness and skills to develop a basic Growth Action Plan for a child, young person or adult with side-by-side support and coaching.

Responding to Need: IMPACT Trauma-Responsive Coaching Module
- Grow an awareness of caregiving and supporting adult responses that are ‘responding’ versus ‘reacting’.
- Grow an awareness of ‘needs’ versus ‘behaviour’.
- Grow the mindset that “trauma-informed caregiving and support is ‘responding’ to need, and not reacting to behaviour”.
- Grow the skills to self-identify when one is ‘responding’ versus ‘reacting’.
- Grow an awareness of key strategies to ‘respond’ rather than ‘react’ to different child behaviours, as made practical through a What-What-How framework.

Grounded: IMPACT Trauma-Responsive Coaching Module
- Grow an awareness of the role and importance of being ‘grounded’ in caregiving or supporting adult roles.
- Grow the mindset that being grounded (or present, mindful, responding and not reacting) is a key strategy in its own right.
- Grow an awareness of ‘mirror neurons’ as a key reason for why being grounded is so important.
- Grow the skills to apply physical (e.g., breath) and cognitive (e.g., affirmation, thought) grounding strategies.
3-Hour Self-Paced Workshop
The school, team, program or community completes the following 3-hour online self-paced workshop.
Trauma-Responsive Practice: A Way of Thinking and Being
Develop the foundational awareness to understand the features and intent behind wellbeing and trauma responsive communities, and the seven IMPACT meta-cognitive competencies of trauma and wellbeing responsive practice (as a way of thinking and being).
1. Foundational knowledge
- Nature of experiences – activating vs suppressing.
- Brain functioning.
- Neuro-sequential brain development.
- Understanding trauma and impact.
- Safe base in action.
2. Mindful intent in action – and how to respond rather than react, remain mindful, being grounded in practice.
